Ruth recommended St Nicolas Bay in Crete for a half-term break family holiday (daughter aged 7) and it was exactly what we wanted!
The hotel is in a stunning location and having our small pool was such a luxury. As so many of the rooms have a pool, the main pool was rarely busy and there were always plenty of sun loungers.
The small beach was sheltered and perfect for small children to play in the sand. We took a private boat trip from the hotel and did snorkelling and fishing which was a real highlight of the holiday.
The staff were, without exception, friendly and welcoming, and especially good with young children. The resort catered for families but there was a mixture of couples and small groups as well.
On our last night, we went to the Greek night at The Greek Kafenion, one of the à la carte restaurants overlooking the sea, with live music and dancing. It was the perfect end to the holiday!
Ruth brilliantly arranged everything, so all we had to do was turn up and enjoy it.
